Canciones por la tolerancia IV: Black or White

Black or White, "Negro o blanco" fue el primer sencillo extraído del álbum "Dangerous", de Michael Jackson, lanzado en 1991.

Esta canción, escrita, compuesta y arreglada por el mismo Jackson, promueve la igualdad racial. En el vídeo original, se pueden observar varias secuencias de vandalismo (dañando coches, o rompiendo ventanas). Con ellas, Michael quería dar a conocer su rechazo a las organizaciones que promovían la violencia, el terrorismo, o la supremacía de la raza blanca.

En un momento del vídeo, Michael rompe un cartel con las letras "KKK", en referencia al Ku Kux Klan, nombre adoptado por varias organizaciones de los Estados Unidos que predicaban la supremacía de la raza blanca, la homofobia, el antisemitismo, el racismo, la xenofobia, etc.

Canciones por la tolerancia III: Beautiful

"Beautiful" es una canción interpretada por la cantante y compositora estadounidense Christina Aguilera para su segundo álbum, Stripped, publicado en 2002. 

La letra habla de una persona con baja autoestima que se siente extremadamente insegura. Muchos la consideran como un himno anti-bullying. Según explicó la compositora de la canción, Linda Perry, "escuchar a la gente diciéndote que no eres lo suficientemente buena, hermosa o inteligente, puede afectarte hasta tal punto de sentirte horrible e inútil".

En el vídeoclip se pueden ver claras referencias a temas como la anorexia, el acoso escolar,  la discriminación por el aspecto físico, la raza o la orientación sexual. La secuencia comienza con un girasol marchito, y termina con uno joven y fresco.

Canciones por la tolerancia II: Where is the love?

"Where is the love?", que en español significa "¿Dónde está el amor?", es el primer sencillo del tercer álbum de The Black Eyed Peas Flephunk. . Fue lanzada en 2003, y cuenta con la voz de Justin Timberlake.

La canción es un himno anti-guerra y pro-pacifismo, y en ella hay un lamento sobre los diversos problemas del mundo, como el terrorismo, el racismo, el medio ambiente, la guerra, la intolerancia y la codicia. También hay un grito contra la hipocresía de los gobiernos, especialmente el estadounidense.

De hecho, esta canción se creó como una reflexión sobre el atentado terrorista del 11-S y sobre la invasión a Irak que sobrevino poco después.

Canciones por la tolerancia I: Imagine.

Aunque fue en 1986 cuando la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas propuso fijar el 16 de noviembre como el Día Internacional de la Tolerancia, han sido muchos los artistas que, a través de su música, han querido lanzar un grito en defensa de la libertad, bienestar y progreso de todos los seres humanos, y de la cooperación entre los distintos pueblos.

De todas ellas, si hay una que destaca es sin duda Imagine, de John Lennon, publicada en 1971. Considerada como una de las mejores composiciones de todos los tiempos, su letra refleja las esperanzas de Lennon en una paz mundial, de un mundo sin países ni religiones, en una época en la que el mundo vivía bajo la amenaza perenne de la Guerra Fría.

Su letra refleja la poesía hecha música por un genio sin igual:

Actividades para celebrar el Día Internacional de la Tolerancia

El próximo viernes, 15 de noviembre, alumnos y profesores de nuestro centro celebraremos juntos el Día Internacional de la Tolerancia.

Para ello, durante el recreo, se desarrollará un acto en la biblioteca "Juan Cáceres" en el que se expondrán todos los trabajos presentados al concurso de eslóganes. Además, leeremos un texto o manifiesto en favor de la tolerancia, y el Coro del Instituto interpretará la canción "Imagine", de John Lennon. Seguidamente, procederemos a entregar los premios a los mejores eslóganes presentados.

¡No os perdáis el acto! ¡Os esperamos!

Concurso de eslogans con motivo del Día Internacional de la Tolerancia

Con motivo de la celebración, el próximo día 16 de noviembre, del Día Internacional de la Tolerancia, el Equipo de Mediación ha organizado en el IES Los Moriscos un concurso de eslogans sobre el tema en cuestión, con las siguientes bases:

• Podrán presentar su eslogan todos los alumnos del centro.
• Se valorarán la originalidad, el texto, buena presentación y diseño.
•  Se debe entregar en papel, cartulina, cartón, ...
• Tamaño: 29 cm x 11 cm. Disposición horizontal.
• Premios: uno para la ESO y otro para Bachillerato y Ciclo Formativo.
• Plazo de entrega: hasta el 13 de noviembre (en la biblioteca)

Acto de presentación de los Hermanos Mayores

El pasado 18 de octubre, celebramos en nuestro Centro, como viene siendo ya una tradición, el acto de presentación de los Hermanos Mayores.

Al igual que en cursos anteriores, a los alumnos de 4º ESO se les han asignado alumnos de 1º ESO, a los que harán un seguimiento personalizado, ayudándoles en su proceso de integración en el Centro, en su labor académica, y en la resolución de posibles conflictos en los que pudiesen verse envueltos.

Durante este acto, y tras conocer quiénes eran sus alumnos tutorizados, los Hermanos Mayores tuvieron ocasión de tener unos primeros minutos para conocer las inquietudes, primeras impresiones y gustos de sus "hermanos menores"
